BACKGROUND

 

A simple exercise and experiment using dialogue to break a creative rut and encourage play.

 

BRIEF

 

Use dialogue to show a narrative in a new way or method you do not have much experience with.

 

IDEA

 

By using a text message conversation, I created a quick piece using mediums I would not normally use. I was able to use collage ­– a technique I love but tend to not be able to use in my work – to make my first stop motion. This experiment allowed me to create a playful piece, where I did not have to stress about the outcome.

 

RESULT

 

Using conversation or dialogue as a subject matter, enabled me to develop a new playful technique and style of storytelling.
